Hello Amy!

Hope all is well in the good old Canadian winter. I’ve been having a blast so far down here, it’s been nothing but basking in the sun for the last few days. The weather has been perfect. I feel so fortunate to have a friend such as Janet. I really can’t believe that she wanted me to be in her wedding so much that she bought me this all-inclusive trip to Mexico. I guess if you have the money to spare, than why not, but I’m also so grateful to have friends like her. She really didn’t have to go as far as to fly her maid-of-honor to the wedding.

The trip itself has been nothing but amazing since we got here. As I told you, the resort’s called “The Grand Mayan”, and it’s located near Cancun on the Mayan Rivera. What can I say? The weather has been spectacular, clear skies, sunlight, and warmth. So far, and the forecast calls for just a patch of clouds to roll in on our last day. As long as it’s then, it doesn’t matter. The beach is exactly like you see in the pictures online, soft white sand, which feels like silk on your feet. If they allow it, I’m planning on taking a sack back with me for the yard. Then, there’s the water, crystal-blue is the only way to describe it, and just the right temperature. It really boggles my mind how anyone would not love to live here year round. I’m thinking of either buying a timeshare or a small hut by the beach in the near future. It’ll truly depend on whatever I can afford first. I took a video of Daffy building a sandcastle. She’s nothing but smiles. Then, she even said she’d love to make it her dream one day. The food... oh my God... the food. Well, it does help that it’s all-inclusive because if I add up all I’ve eaten, I think it would be my whole paycheck. I really don’t think it’s possible for anyone to afford all this food three times a day. The Mexican food has been by far my favorite. We got some traditional Mexican the other day, and it was to die for, so much flavor, of course a little on the spicy side, but I washed it all down with some of this amazing guava punch.

On the negative side, well, I’ve got 2 days to go, and then back to the grind. But really, I wouldn’t mind anything if it was down here. We went to this town nearby, and Daffy spotted this small unique vacant space, I instantly thought what a great place for a hair salon. I’d move down here in heartbeat if I could do hair here. The people have been nothing but kind too, some people say it’s because I’m Canadian. I guess they really love Canadians down here. I did here that resorts tend to be much more adorned than real-life Mexico, but that’s the way it is anywhere. We visited the Mayan Pyramids, which happen to be one of the great wonders of the world, and our tour guide said that the Mayan Rivera is safer than other areas because of tourism.

Anyway, got to get back to the sun, and some yummy Mexican barbecue near the beach. Daffy was just doing some kids yoga, and now wants to go for a swim. What a life! Thanks a million for covering my schedule, I owe you big. Again, if I can, I’ll bring you back some of this sand.

See you soon!
Michelle
